Water is the source of life, but in recent years, due to the impact of water pollution, the water quality today has been much worse than before. In order to ensure the safety of drinking water, more and more families choose water purifiers as terminal water purification equipment.

The "core" of water purification is the most important! Among all the components of the water purifier, the filter element acts on the water purifier just like the human heart acts on the human. In short, the filter element is the heart of all water treatment equipment and plays a key role in the quality of the effluent.

The water purified from the water purifier is very clean, but almost all pollutants are stored on the filter element, so we need to replace the filter element regularly to keep the water quality healthy.

The harm caused by the filter element being overdue

1. Unable to purify water quality

When the filter element reaches a saturated state, it will not be able to purify the water quality, and will not be able to remove the chlorine, peculiar smell, and heavy metals in the water, which will affect the water quality.

2. The water purification effect is weakened

When the filter element reaches a saturated state, pollutants adhere to the surface of the filter element to block the pores, resulting in a small amount of water, affecting the filtration of water quality, and reducing the "purity" of the purified water. Drinking such incompletely filtered water may absorb some harmful impurities into the body and bring filtration burden to the kidneys. Once the impurities cannot be filtered effectively, they will slowly and slowly accumulate in people's bodies.

3. Become a "sewage tank"

If the filter element is not replaced after the expiration date, the saturated filter element cannot inhibit the growth of bacteria in the water, and it is easy to make the water purifier a "sewage device".

4. Overload work, damage progressively

The water purifier is filtered step by step, and the function of the previous filter element is weakened, which will bring pressure to the next filter element, causing the next filter element to work overload, which will aggravate and shorten its life. In the same situation, the filter element that was originally expected to be replaced after two years should be replaced after less than two years. By analogy, the life of all filter elements will be greatly shortened.

It is important to replace the filter element regularly

Generally speaking, if the following situations occur, it needs to be replaced:

First: the water production becomes smaller: under the same conditions (such as the same water pressure and water temperature), the water purifier produces less water.

Second: The taste of the water becomes worse: This situation is because too many impurities and bacteria are filtered by the filter element of the water purifier, and the time accumulated in the filter element is too long, causing secondary pollution to the tap water.

Third: The TDS value of water quality is high: If the TDS value of the pure water machine is significantly higher than before, it should be the damage of the RO membrane to prompt you to replace the filter element.

Water purifiers are different from other household appliances in general. They cannot be used once and for all after they are purchased. The internal filter element needs to be cleaned or replaced regularly. In the life cycle of the water purifier filter element, the standard of regular replacement should be strictly implemented, and the subsequent maintenance service of the filter element should be standardized.

At present, the mainstream water purifier filter elements are divided into PP cotton, activated carbon, ultrafiltration membrane, and RO membrane.

PP cotton filter element: It is usually used as the first-stage filter, which has a coarse filter function and can filter out the visible matter such as sand, suspended solids, rust, etc. in the water. The service life of PP cotton filter element is generally 3-6 months.

Activated carbon filter element: mainly absorbs different colors and odors, residual chlorine, etc. in the water. Activated carbon filter elements generally have pre-activated carbon and post-activated carbon. The service life of activated carbon filter element is generally 8-12 months.

Ultrafiltration membrane filter element: The filtration accuracy is generally 0.01 microns, which can remove bacteria, viruses, rust and organic matter in the water and retain mineral elements in the water. The service life of the ultrafiltration membrane filter element is generally 16-24 months.

RO reverse osmosis filter element: the filtration accuracy is generally 0.0001 micron. Only water molecules and a small part of mineral ions can safely pass through the RO membrane, and can be impurities in water such as inorganic salts, heavy metal ions, organics (pesticides, hormones), colloids, bacteria, and viruses. What is obtained after RO membrane filtration can be described as real "pure water". The service life of RO membrane filter element is generally 18-36 months.

Of course, the specific replacement time depends on the local water quality. Proper installation and regular replacement of the filter element are the most important thing to ensure that we drink fresh and good water that is safe and healthy at any time.

In the face of today's water quality problems are becoming more and more serious, a high-performance water purifier has become a modern family almost a must-have thing. But in the variety of the market, how to buy a water purifier that really suits you? The purpose of this article is to reveal for you to buy a water purifier of the whole picture, to help you pick the desired product, so that your water back to pure.
Second, the face of water purification:
Understanding the types of water purifiersThere are many types of water purifiers, each of which has its own unique application scenarios and characteristics.1. Ultra-filtration water purifiers: suitable for relatively good water quality in the region, the main filtration of impurities and odors.2. Reverse osmosis water purifiers: known as water purification sector “all-rounders” to remove heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, etc., to provide more pure drinking water.3. Nanofiltration water purifiers: called water purification sector “all-rounders” to remove heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, etc., to provide a more pure drinking water. Nanofiltration water purifier: between ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis, able to filter out most of the harmful substances. 4. activated carbon water purifier: mainly relying on activated carbon adsorption of odor, pigmentation, etc..

How much do you know about ultrafiltration technology and ultrafiltration membranes? Ultrafiltration membrane technology is an important technology for water treatment in environmental protection projects. It has extremely broad application prospects in urban sewage treatment, various industrial wastewater treatment, and recovery of useful substances. At present, one of the research directions of ultrafiltration membrane technology is to invent more efficient ultrafiltration devices, and the other is to combine it with other water treatment technologies based on the characteristics of the incoming water quality to improve the quality of the effluent.
